Cardiology Consultation

A cardiology consultation is a good idea for anyone, especially if you have experienced any symptoms you’re concerned about (or a doctor has told you that you should see a cardiologist). We have provided cardiac consultations in New Zealand for years. If you need a clinical assessment from an experienced and skilled cardiologist that you can trust, we encourage you have a referral placed for your consultation at your earliest convenience.

What happens during your consultation

Our team will discuss and explain the services and/or assessment you have been referred for and answer any questions you may have. We will ensure information about our services are available and easily accessible for you. We understand you may often feel anxious and/or concerned about your heart healthcare. We understand that clear information can assist in alleviating anxiety/nervousness.

All patients will receive the following information:

  • confirmation of their referral being received

  • confirmation of the services we will provide on the basis of this referral

  • appointment provision information, i.e., expected wait times

  • where we provide services

  • how to access our services

  • times of operation

  • the name of the SIH staff member providing the services they require

  • their patient rights

  • the cost of the services

  • payment schedule for services, i.e., payment is usually due on the day of the appointment

  • information about any changes to the services they require based on their health care investigation

With your consent, the relevant services/assessments/interventions will commence. Information about the assessment and/or services you received will be shared with your GP (General Practitioner) and/or referrer.
