Andy is from Bradford, England, growing up mainly in the Yorkshire Dales before eventually settling here in the south of New Zealand, Aotearoa.

Having experienced a heart murmur as a child, Andy has always wanted to learn more and help others since then.

He began his training in Cardiac Physiology 34 years ago, with the last 20 years dedicated exclusively to echocardiography, gaining his postgraduate diploma in 2007.

During this time, Andy has also been involved with the training and examining of other health professionals in his field, due his decades of experience in this sector.

“The favourite part of my role is the people I meet; doing my best to meet their health needs, as well as acting as their advocate if required.”
